Verna Sue Sharpe Plemmons, 92, of Madisonville, passed away early Monday morning, Oct. 4, 2021.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tellico Village. Sue was a loving, giving, intelligent woman who loved her family deeply and if you knew her for more than a short minute you would become her family.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin F. Plemmons; son, Timothy A. Plemmons; parents, Horace and Lena Giles Sharpe; brother, Max H. Sharpe; sisters, Virginia Giles Chevalier, Maxine Sharpe and Erma Sharpe; and grandparents, the Rev. Newt Patterson and Nancy Patterson.
Survivors include her daughter, Loren Plemmons Hentchel (Randy); sister, Nina Belle Sharpe Alexander (Glenn); sister-in-law, Myrna Watson Sharpe; grandchildren, Becky Hentchel Smith (Jason), Jamie Blackburn Watry (Ryan), Jason Plemmons (Lauren), Raulin Hentchel (Memphis) and Erin Sangster (Preston); five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Sue’s extended family of nieces and nephews enjoyed her sharing family history with them.
The family is deeply grateful to Kathy Grimes and Cindy Tallent and Caris-Hospice of Athens who made it possible for Sue to live out her remaining days in her home.
A celebration of life/funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Tellico Village. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Tellico Village.
