Troy Eugene Chambers, 79, of Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 10, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He was a member and served as a deacon of Hensley’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Troy was a 49-year member of Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F&AM. He retired from ORNL (X-10) after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Ola Chambers; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Iona Pruitt; brother, Joel Chambers; brother-in-law, Bobby Gene Cox; brother and sister-in-law, J.T. and Audrey Kilby; brother-in-law, G.W. Wiggins, whom he loved dearly; and nephew, James Robert Wiggins.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Delores Pruitt Chambers; sons, Jeff (Kim) Chambers and Bryan (Ben) Chambers; daughter, Amy (Teddy) Mitchell; grandchildren, Colby (Madison) Chambers, Blakely (Bethany) Chambers, Ashton Chambers, Molly Mitchell, Addie Chambers, Aaron Mitchell and Caroline Chambers; first great-grandchild, Eleanor Katherine Chambers; sisters, Bernice Cox, Linda (Mike) Pickell and Marsha (Mike) Self; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends could have called at their convenience 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the funeral home. The family received friends 4-6 p.m. Masonic services were conducted by the Avery Masonic Lodge at 6 p.m. followed by funeral services conducted by elder Ricky Wiggins and Troy’s son-in-law, Teddy Mitchell. Family and friends gathered by 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home and proceeded to the Loudon County Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 10 a.m.
