Margaret Ellen Dixon Shudan, 91, of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at Summit View of Farragut.
Margaret was born Aug. 14, 1929, to the late Thomas C. Sr. and Mary Amburn Dixon. She was of the Baptist faith, a member of Antioch Baptist Church and also attended Hickory Valley Baptist Church. Margaret is best remembered for her hospitality and desire to feed everyone who walked in her door. She cared for her family and neighbors and was an active member in the community. Margaret delighted in her large and bountiful garden each year and enjoyed sharing produce with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joe F. Shudan Sr.; sons, Joe. F. Shudan Jr., Thomas H. Shudan and James A. and Marsha H. Shudan; brothers, Joseph, John, Elmer, Charles and Thomas C. Jr. Dixon; and sisters, Sue Dixon Bass, Mary Nell Dixon Beeler and Ruth Dixon.
Margaret is survived by her grandchildren and spouses, Thomas R. (Michelle) Shudan, Jason T. (Ashley) Shudan, Joe F. III (Lindsey) Shudan, Shannon (Danny) Phillips, Jessica (Richard) Springer and Tricia (Randy) Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Jarod, Ezra, Greta, Ingrid, Grover, Stetson, Abby, Asher, Ethan, Jacob and Riley Lynn; daughters-in-law, Vivian W. Shudan and Doris L. Shudan; brother, Randall W. Dixon; sister, Mattie Dixon Keener; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to express a "thank you" to the staff of Summit View of Farragut and Smoky Mountain Hospice for the care she received.
The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charlie Carpenter officiating and burial following at Hickory Valley Cemetery. Due to COVID-19, the family requests those attending wear masks and practice social distancing.
