The News-Herald reported that swimmer Claire Donahue was
expected to join the USA 4x100-meter medley relay team in Friday's preliminary round.
Barring any last minute changes, she will swim as part of that team.
Donahue was
selected thanks to a semi-final race in which she swam her personal best, 57.42, in the 100-meter
butterfly. She nearly matched the time with a 57.48 in the final, earning seventh place overall in
the event.
She is only scheduled to swim in the preliminary stage of the event, but will
still earn a medal if the team is able to finish top three overall.
Sports Illustrated
projected the team to win the gold medal.
The preliminary race is scheduled for 6:35 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 3.
