After being alerted to a possible shoplifting at a store on U.S. Highway 321, Lenoir City Police Department responded Friday evening.

Only one suspect was apprehended at the scene.

The other three jumped in a vehicle and fled, according to Lenoir City Police Chief Don White. "They did flee the scene in the vehicle, and were pursued down the interstate," he said.

Lt. Mike Tinnel and Officer Brandon Burley originally responded to the theft call.

"Loss prevention was watching them, and called us to come up there in case they decided to dash out and run, which they did," Tinnel said. The original call came in around 9:20 p.m. Friday.

Ricky Joe Gennoe, 35, Niota, Trevor Allen Coleman, 21, Athens, and April Gail Moses, 31, Niota, along with another person, were being watched in the store. Moses was detained in the store parking lot, but Gennoe and Coleman fled in a silver Pontiac Sunfire, Tinnel said.

The pursuit lasted until exit 62 on Interstate 75.

Spike strips were deployed by the City of Loudon at the Sugarlimb Road exit, Tinnel said. After the spike strips were deployed, the two continued on for a bit, and eventually fled on foot in opposite directions.

"With the assistance of a Loudon County K9, we got Gennoe picked up pretty quickly," Tinnel said.
Tennessee Highway Patrol picked up Coleman near the interstate.

Gennoe was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, filing a false report, filing false report or bomb threat, resisting arrest/prevention of service, resisting stop, halt, frisk or search, harboring a fugitive, theft over $500, evading arrest and reckless endangerment. He was held on $55,000 bond.

Coleman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest/prevention of service, resisting stop, halt, frisk or search, theft over $500, and harboring a fugitive. He was held on $5,000 bond.

Moses was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest/prevention of service, theft over $500, resisting stop, halt, frisk or search and harboring a fugitive. She was held on $7,500 bond.

The fourth individual was detained by Monroe County and has not been served with warrants, Tinnel said.
