Catfish anglers from multiple states will soon arrive in Loudon County to take part in the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail May 3-4 on Watts Bar Lake.

Local and traveling anglers will be vying for cash, prizes and an opportunity to compete in the 2019 King Kat Classic, which will feature a guaranteed payout of $120,000 and other prizes.

Teams may consist of one or two anglers, with a third allowed if the angler is younger than 16 or older than 65.

Participating anglers must be a member of the King Kat Association. Memberships are $30 for adults and $15 for spouses and youth.

A pre-tournament seminar will be held 5 p.m. May 2 at the Lions Club Pavilion. Children will also have the opportunity to fish for free 9-11 a.m. May 4 at Riverside Park.
