Juanita Waye Madson

Juanita Waye Madson was born to Arthur and Mabel Jarvis on March 6, 1928, in Holton, Maine. She passed away on May 30, 2012 in Loudon.

She was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her husband, Roger, who she married in December 1956; son Roger Jr. and wife, Linda of Charleston, S.C., son, Mark of Mt. Juliet, son, Eric and wife Robin of Friendsville; grandchildren, Danielle and Kyle Madson of Mt. Juliet, sister, Linda of North River, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Juanita graduated from high school in Canterbury, New Brunswick, Canada, after which she moved to Portland, Maine, where she attended business college and met her future husband, Roger. She later received a degree in nursing from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

Juanita worked as an RN as she and Roger moved about the country, until Roger's retirement from the Coast Guard. She enjoyed travel, which she and Roger were able to do together with her sister Audrey and brother-in-law Fred.

Juanita and Roger moved to Tellico Village from Metairie, La., in 1994. They became members of Faith Lutheran Church, Knoxville in 1995. After retiring from active nursing, she enjoyed working as a volunteer at the local hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Lake Campus of Faith Lutheran Church in Tellico Village with the Rev. Dr. Robert Stelter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers it is requested memorials be designated to the "Creating Holy Space" fund of Faith Lutheran Church, 239 Jamestown Blvd., Farragut, TN 37934 or to Alzheimer's Tennessee Inc., 2270 Sutherland Ave. Suite 202, Knoxville, TN 37919.
