Mary Louise (Hickman) Raby, 87, Knoxville, passed away at 1:40 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Kindred Health Care in Maryville.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she would light up the room with her love and warmth.

She was a member of Glen Oak Baptist Church in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley Hickman and Edna Hickman Jones; husband, the Rev. Clarence H. Raby; son, Raymond Raby; brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Margaret Hickman.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat Wampler of Lenoir City, Brenda Thomas of Knoxville and Wilma Millsaps and husband Ronnie of McMinn County; sons, Carl Raby, Clarence (Cotton) Raby and Kenneth Raby, all of Knoxville, 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Dewey Owens of Knoxville; brother Paul Jones of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff at Kindred Health Care who showed love and compassion during her illness.

Family and friends met at Pleasant Forest cemetery in Farragut at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for an 11 a.m. graveside service officiated by the Rev. Ronald Dotson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Knoxville or to a charity of your choice. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
