Emma Rachel Babb (Nancy) Nelson, 89, Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Rachel was a graduate of Lenoir City High School Class of 1941 and a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. She retired from Bell South in 1980.

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 62 years, Glen Nelson; parents, Charlie and Mae Reno Babb; brothers, Jack Babb and wife, Frances, Ralph Babb, Claude (Skip) Babb and wife, Edna Lee; sisters, Pearl Fine and husband, Clifford, Imogene McCarroll and husband, Robert (Rosy), Bobbye Simmons and husband, Bill.

Left to be remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sammye Nelle Nelson; grandsons, Burke Nelson and wife, Sharon and Wayne Nelson who never left her side; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hair, Grace Babb and Joann Nelson; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Caris Healthcare and Hospice nurse, Missy, Tim and Edith Rector, our wonderful neighbors, and friends and also Shirley Geer who was a friend to Rachel all through the years. Friends may call at their convenience at Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lenoir City Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Eddie Click officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
