Charles Harris, 79, Loudon, passed away Saturday evening, April 21, 2012, at Renaissance Terrace Care in Harriman. Charles was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired employee at Maremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Addie Sherrill Harris; brothers, Cleve and Orbin Harris; and sister, Naomi Hobbs.

He is survived by: wife of 58 years, Edna Sledge Harris; sister, Imogene Robins, of Athens; sisters-in-law, Ruth Harris, of Philadelphia, Mae Sledge and Rosie Pierce, of Sweetwater; nieces and nephews.

The funeral services were held 7 p.m. Monday at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tony Harris, the Rev. Ronnie Maples and the Rev. Sammy Thomas officiating.

Internment was 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sweetwater Memory Gardnes.
