William Randle McCollister, 82, of Webster Court in Loudon, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at his home.
Randle was a member of Blairland Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Y-123 Union Carbide in Oak Ridge. Randle was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ollie Hyde McCollister; his infant twin brothers, Arlen and Allen and Vernie and Harold McCallister; his brother-in-law, Wayne Selvidge; and by his nephew, Steve McCallister.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Bivens McCollister; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bill Bishop; his grandson, the Rev. Jason Sweeton and wife, Sheryl; his sister, Phyllis Salvidge; his brother, Jerry McCollister of Loudon; his sister-in-law, Gayle McCallister of Lenoir City; his stepmother, Edith McCollister of Sweetwater; and by several nieces and nephews.
The family received visitors Tuesday evening. Funeral service were held Tuesday evening in the Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jon Henson officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Blairland Baptist Church Building Fund, Loudon or Shiloh Baptist Church in Kingston.
