A Greenback man is facing rape and sexual battery charges after a woman came to the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office claiming she had been sexually assaulted on a near daily basis.

The victim talked with officers May 3, telling them that while at a residence off Tennessee Avenue, Rodney Dean Baker sexually assaulted her, including oral sex, vaginal contact and touching himself in front of her.

“The defendant would threaten her with no place to live, no one would believe her and that he would kill her if she told anyone,” LCSO Inv. Sgt. Chris Bowen wrote in a report. “This put her in fear of bodily injury and up to death if she did not comply or tell anyone.”

The victim was sexually assaulted with a hairbrush April 28, Bowen wrote in the report.

Baker was served an order of protection May 3. On May 5, a woman who said her name was June contacted the victim asking if she had changed her phone or number and, if so, if she could get it for Baker, who was arrested May 6 for violation of the no contact order of protection.

Baker, 53, was charged with aggravated rape, aggravated sexual battery and violation of order of protection/restraint and held on $127,500 bond.
